Half 2011, I started at TOBIUS as an experienced consultant in the field of Business Analysis. Before I worked for a very large consultancy company. When I met the people of TOBIUS I immediately had a good feeling. During our initial meeting, there was an instant click what made it easy for me to go for TOBIUS. There is very little hierarchy, we’re all on first name terms. The offices reflect also this open, informal culture. Everyone sits in modern light open spaces with the Managing Directors in the middle. In this way they are always available if you want advise, if you need some help in solving issues or just for a chat. I noticed that the clients that I work for are very satisfied of the professionalism by the people from TOBIUS. Because we are most of the time at the client they organize events on regular base. It’s always interesting meeting othercolleagues that work at different clients. In this way we can share different approaches in practice, usable software or what are interesting courses. I started my career as in the technical domain of programming. Later on I have chosen to go in the domain of business analysis and lite Project Management. At TOBIUS they offered me the right opportunities that match my profile and interests. Here I can grow further in my competences and experiences.

After a few years working for a large banking company I decided to join a consultancy company. I had several companies where I could choose from but in the end the personal approach of TOBIUS seduced me. TOBIUS doesn't feel as a hierarchical company where it's hard to get feedback from the right person. I'm already now 2 years in TOBIUS and had the opportunity to learn new technologies, follow training courses and obtain certifications. In 'Open innovation: the new imperative for creating and profiting from technology', Henry Chesbrough asserted that: 'Valuable ideas can come from inside or outside the company, and can go to market from inside or outside the company as well'. Notwithstanding the fact that Belgium (and in particular Brussels) with its sophisticated services industry in a truly multi-cultural business environment should be an ideal breeding ground to foster this paradigm, most local companies catering for information and technology solutions remain hopelessly conventional, to the brink of narrow-mindlessness. To beat the mainstream, I teamed up with TOBIUS, where executives and peers alike are approachable, open to new ideas, and actively involved in reaping positive results. The clear prioritization of TOBIUS' business drivers and propagation of a pragmatic IT strategy are in stark contrast with stale visions and calcified hierarchies which impeded many grassroots initiatives during my past employment. As a young graduate putting the first steps on the labour market seemed the hardest thing to do. I was up for a new challenge but I didn't know where to look first. Studying history and economics hadn't been the most obvious choice to make, at first working for a consultancy agency didn't seem to be obvious either. But TOBIUS appealed to me from the start. Common sense had made me believe interviews were all about convincing a company of your skills.
My first interview with the guys from TOBIUS proved me wrong, TOBIUS was interested in me and my personal ambitions rather than in my qualifications and that was all the conviction I needed.
