WII Event

Tonight we organized the first WII competition at TOBIUS. After some practice, everyone was invited to have a go at the ski jump game, a game that required balance, finesse and timing. So we decided to have a tournament set up, serve some beers, and try our skills on this exciting game... and the winner was our CEO. Luckily... he has more talents.

Palm

Wednesday evening. Meeting point in Steenhuffel. Palm Breweries. The history of the Palm Breweries can be traced back to the year 1747 and Anne Cornet, who set up a small village brewery across the road from the church in the village of Steenhuffel (Brabant) to brew top-fermenting beers. An original tour brought us in the Stallions of the Flemish Fox Horses. A quick tastery of some local beers. And the a nice diner in the browershouse. Again a unique experience and nice to see one another.

Bowling

After a full blown company presentation including all service offerings for all TOBIUS personnel we have a decent dinner. Steakn french fries and beer. Yes, we are from Belgium. Than we started playing bowling. For the second time in a year MichAeL had the highest scores. He won the Turkeys after several strokes. So he decided to stay ...

TOBIUS X-Mas party 2009

After a brief presentation about TOBIUS' plans for 2010 (and where we announced a news item that received a lot of enthusiasm) everyone was invited for a TEPAYAKI in Zellik. We reserved the whole restaurant for a Japanese night on fire.
Santa Claus of course had to make his appearance and delivered everyone a personal gadget, sometimes small and funny at other times downright hilarious. During a visually impressive food show, our consultants and employees were also tested on their bite reflexes with some nice flying food treats.
The result was great: everyone was happy.

TOBIUS family day anno 2009

Sunday morning 13th of September 2009 10am. TOBIUS families arrive in Cité 1 of Winterslag. After a coffee break we started a guided tour in the Cité. Interesting to see how our economy 100 years ago appealed to foreigners in order to work in our coal mines. To make it attractive for them to move over with their families they got houses, schools, churches, etc. Today it makes it worth to visit the remaining of this social and economic efforts.
Then we continued our trip to Bokrijk for an interactive ‘smokkel’ route. But before we started we got a nice and decent meal of ‘that’ time. During the tour, the guides introduced us into some smuggle techniques which our ancestors used to earn some extra money. Also worth to see is which techniques and inventions they used in their farms to survive in the winter. The event ended with ‘Limburgse Vlaai’ and a good beer. Cheers. After all, our kids and partners had lots of fun ...

Roeifestijn 25 Aug 2009

Dinsdagavond 16u. Appel aan boord van TOBIUS. 12 medewerkers hebben de uitdaging opgenomen voor een bijzondere sport: Roeien. De locatie zou uniek zijn in deze sportdiscipline, met name Hazewinkel. Na een korte introductie werden de spieren getest op een roei-ergometer over een afstand van 200m. Daar briesten sommigen reeds hun longen open. Wonder boven wonder, Frank is de winnaar. Dan wordt iedereen uitgenodigd om zich klaar te maken om op het water te gaan. Er worden 2 teams gevormd. We gaan met 5 in een boot: 4 roeiers, 1stuurman. De eerste – vaak de sterkste en meest bedreven – geeft de slag aan. Spannend moment: we moeten tezamen het evenwicht houden want anders slaat de boot om. Na 1 km roeien zijn de technieken ingeoefend en heeft iedereen door hoe snelheid kan gemaakt worden. Dus komt het moment van de waarheid: welk team is het snelst terug? Het team van Bart is minder gespierd maar wint met enkele lengtes voorsprong van het team van Frank. Conclusie: een geolied team is belangrijker dan een sterk individu, taakgerichte focus in team geeft een beter resultaat dan individuele focus. Wauw. Nadien volgt een verkwikkend moment. Allen het meer in. We sluiten zoals vanouds af met een lekkere BBQ in de Boathouse. De zon zakt langzaam weg achter de bomen en er volgen nog enkele stoere verhalen. We komen zeker terug volgend jaar!

Karting event van 30 juli.

Eind juli kwamen de hardrijders van TOBIUS nog eens aan de slag. Aan de A12 in Boom werd het startschot gegeven voor een competitie in 3 manches. Winnaar 2009 is Johan met een ronde tijd van 1.27 seconden voor 1 km.

After a hectic start TOBIUS organized a nice bowling competition with its colleague to kick-off the stress. But before that we took a decent meal: steak with French fries. Typically Belgian, not? One of us even managed to throw more strikes than anyone else that night. He even won the turkey. And so our evening ended, with the fabulous dance move of Gunther and some beers !

December, Sinterklaas Party

"Sinterklaas" is visiting the TOBIUS offices. Everybody got treated to nice sweets and some even got a little more than they bargained for...

November 23, TOBIUS sings 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight'

Thursday evening the 23rd of October 2008 TOBIUS organized its annual workshop for all their consultants. Employees, freelancers and subcontractors, you were all welcome. First we challenged our sense for rhythm and music. Together we looked for the good vibrations during a superb jam session. More than 50 consultants sang together WHEN THE … SLEEPS TONIGHT and played the music in accordance. Afterwards they were invited for a top walking diner in B52. For the closing we were amused by a music group were our consultants could participate to play their music instrument (bass guitar and piano) with the profs or sign their favorite song – FIRE, BOHEMIAN RAPSODY, ... So we all closed the famous B52 wine bar in a very good mood, with loads of energy.

Just one more time thank for that nice evening, it was nice to meet and have a chat with new colleagues. I couldn't sleep yesterday, every time I closed my eyes, the dancing teacher in black appeared and the IT MIGHTY music too. Maybe the client was sleeping but me not. WaoW! I know that after my PMI, I'll go for dancing lessons, could be useful, who knows when the market will be better ???
Seriously : I'm very happy to hear about the results of TOBIUS and I think that we are on the right way. Your message was very important and I hope that everybody got it.

July 17, TOBIUS is one big family!

Every consultant working for TOBIUS in Antwerp joined us for a nice lunch in ‘de Kaai, Hangar 26’. A spectacular location with view on the Schelde.
After the apero, a starter was offered. Steak, mussels from Brussels, spareribs or sole were the main dish. The time went so fast that there was no time left for coffee or dessert. As our duty called us...

July 6, Fishing at sea with full crew

Sunday Morning, 5 am. TUUT,TUUT, ...
Good Morning TOBIUS. Wake up!
Every participant needs to reunion at 6.30 am at Ostend; so at least one hour drive.
No rain, no wind, sleepy faces. Coffee?
All aboard. Everyone one fish line, hooks and ... those little dark bastards: sea worms.
At 9 am the boat stopped. The lines went out ... in no time some of us catched 4 'MAKREEL' at a time. And we continued. The horn blows. Lines in. The motor ship sails deeper into the sea. One hour later, the lines went out again. Now we went for 'KABELJAUW' and 'TONG'.
Olé. Who fishes the biggest one gets a bottle of Champaign. Some were forced to get down as they became green ... seasickness.
TOBIUS team, freelancers, consultants, staff, managed in team more than 100 fishes, cleaned by the organizer of the event, our consultant and pro-fisher Bassam Sater.
And we returned with one more surprise. The engine went down just before sailing into the harbor. But when off-boarding, we all took fish home and started cooking. Fish soup, fish grill! Sunbacked.

Black-jack TOBIUS

Mesdames, Messieurs, faites vos jeux. Come and join us... TOBIUS first employee reunion was organized in 'De Met' in Brussels, a unique Art-Nouveau house à la Horta. After a 'jazzy' reception all TOBIUS employees and their partners were invited to a wealthy buffet. In between we did a 'changement des places' and continued to taste the fancy spices of Spain, Greece, Asia and French cuisine.
The following hours everyone took part at the game CASINO ROYALE. Blackjack, Poker, Roulette, and 21 - make your bet with TOBIUS dollars and double your income! At the end, the winner went home with a nice voucher, a 'wellness trip' to kick-off for him and his partner. And so we closed the doors, 8 hours later, with a new experience of 'working at TOBIUS'.

Consultant Events 2007

TOBIUS organized its first "We feel good" party for all its consultants. More than 70 consultants were present at a challenging event with food & drinks, fine music and an appealing show about body language. As we all know, non-verbal communication is just as important as verbal. The show gave the consultants tips and tricks, do's and dont's; things that will make the difference in an interview or meeting.
